A group of House Republicans has introduced a bill in Lansing that intends to ban all pornography online, including descriptions of “a disconnection between biology and gender.”
House Bill 4938, named the “Anticorruption of Public Morals Act,” was introduced Thursday and has been referred to the House Judiciary Committee.
“Don’t make it, don’t share it, don’t view it,” lead sponsor Rep. Josh Schriver of Oxford, a Republican from District 66, said in a social media post about the bill along with a request to add porn distributors to the sex offender registry. “These measures defend children, safeguard our communities, and put families first.”
Schriver said in his social media post that existing obscenity laws are outdated and rarely enforced online. He also said that there are few tools for parents and schools to restrict access to minors.
With exceptions for scientific or medical research or instruction, House Bill 4938 would prohibit two categories of behavior:
The depiction, description or simulation of specific sexual activities, “whether real, animated, digitally generated, written, or auditory” to include…

So I guess no one in Michigan should post an unabridged copy of the Bible online.
So…..when someone watches, When Harry met Sally on YouTube, they will be facing prison time and the SO registry?!?! Bring it on!!!! The more PFR’s the better! This is so stupid.
So these republicans are against the first amendment and freedom of expression; how anti-American of them. I guess they are pro-nanny state.
Here we go: “The People vs. Larry Flynt” the sequel!!!
” These measures defend children, safeguard our communities, and puts families first.” Sounds like lawmakers who force their ” morality’ onto other people just because they can. Nothing more corrupt than adding more Michiganders to their registry. Anything to keep the money flow down in Lansing.
Ha…Ha…Ha….Joke ! Everyone can now see how STUPID Michigan Politicans really are. Maybe they should ban cell phones and internet all together too LOL Foolish Politicans @ their Finest .
It’ll never fly because its a 1st Amendment issue, and even if the bill did pass, it would be shot down in court.
Download your copy of Lady Chatterley’s Lover from Project Gutenberg while you can if you live in Michigan!
Michigan Anti-Porn Bill Would Criminalize ASMR, Written Erotica, and Even Nonsexual Depictions of Trans People (Reason.com 22 Sep 2025)
Under the law, transgender people writing about their gender identity online could face 20 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.
VPNs could be banned if they don’t follow it.
Not surprising Rep. Schriver wrote the bill. Earlier this last year, the Michigan house speaker stripped Schriver from committee assignements, because that little boy was promoting “the great replacement theory” on X. 🤭 Also, he recently got censored for accusing races from Asia, Africa, Latin America (conveniently leaving out Europeans) of not assimilating. However, he made that comment before someone shot up a Mormon church. I guess the perp thought some European Americans weren’t assimilating into Judeo-Christian values. When people show bigotry against one group, they usually have narrow minded opinions of others. Shriver’s target is now trans people, erotic artists, and flick producers
